The story so far

I PACKED THIS MYSELF is a project working with migrant workers and local communities in Cornwall, which started in 2006. The aim: to break down prejudice and increase understanding

Up to Wadebridge

Back on the road and thinking about the next round of I PACKED THIS MYSELF workshops. We have come to an end of the Migration Impacts Funding, but hopefully will find some support from elsewhere.
In the meantime, it’s important to keep the momentum going.
Jamie German, who I first met more than two years ago in Newquay at a Citizenship teachers’ conference organised by David Hampshire, has asked me to visit and run a workshop in early July.
It will be with Year 7 students – and we will model the session on earlier workshops in other schools.
But Jamie iskeen to concentrate on identity – and will take the work forward during the afternoon with a fellow teacher.
Thankfully this is the week after the Royal Cornwall Show! So though I pass lorries and trucks on the road dismantling stands etc, the traffic isn’t too bad at all.
