The story so far

I PACKED THIS MYSELF started as a project working with migrant workers and local communities in Cornwall. We found instances of exploitation, discrimination and outright racism and tried to find ways of bringing people together to increase understanding. We've run workshops across Cornwall in schools and with other groups. We're now taking this work forward by looking at unemployment in rural communities.

Suitcase photo .... thoughts for the future

Just thinking of how to develop our work in Cornwall ... the I Packed This Myself project looking at the experience of migrant workers.
The project up to now has been focussed around the suitcase.
And artist Paul Matosic, based in Nottingham, has sent me this picture.
Food for thought. The journey never ends... within every suitcase is another with hopes, ambition, practicalities packed within.
Paul Matosic loaned a suitcase for our original I Packed This Myself exhibition. It was carried by his father through Europe during WW2.
